Jekson Imam Wenda: He is KNPB Activist has Died in Sentani, Papua.

Very sad news for KNPB Papuan activists that on May 26, 2013, Jekson Imam Wenda, 23 year old had died in Sentani, Papua. Jekson Wenda became a member of the National Committee of West Papua Sentani region in 2011. He is one of the agencies that take charge structure KNPB Sentani region and the focus of the work as a documenter militancy and media publications in the secretariat.

At first KNPB has issued a call to the people to carry out a peaceful demonstration. on Monday, June 4, 2012 hundreds of protesters were heading Abepura using 12 trucks. When mid-way precisely in Kampung Harapan blocked by police. The police took the demonstrators who want to return to the Jayapura city to avoid possibilities were Sentani demonstration.


Protesters unable to stem the police so that future members of the West Papua National Committee Sentani region back to Sentani. At that time the police opened fire on demonstrators and resulting in Jekson Wenda had suffered gunshot wounds and gunshot wounds. He was shot in the right rib so the police came and fell down hitting and trampling.

Jekson Wenda sick for 10 months since he was shot by police on June 4, 2012 until his death on May 25, 2013. It torments he had to undergo treatment at home. He can not seek treatment in public hospitals for fear of being poisoned. If activists seek treatment in hospital is often given medicines that are not matching with her pain so many activists who died poisoned even when treated.
